One of the painting courses in Italy was taught by a former nun, one with whom I developed a close bond. She assigned us the task of creating a Biblical scene using compositional and stylistic practices found in traditional tempera painting. This is my first draft of Peter’s moment on the water with Jesus in Matthew 14.
